Wear Your Narrative

Story Blog

Wearrative was started by Lisa and Chris Moore in Denver, Colorado in early 2017 after 25+ years in cancer diagnostics and regenerative medicine. It has been an incredible experience, and although our mission is to help others share the power of story, it didn't seem right not to share our story as well. We apologize ahead of time for the rambling, spelling errors and bad grammar. After all, it's sometimes the imperfections that make story great. Subscribe here to be notified of the latest and greatest from Wearrative.

He Pushed Them and They Flew

Let me tell you a story,

I didn’t blog at all last week and I am sorry about that. Half of the reason was that it was my wife’s birthday. Thanks to an amazing mother-in-law / babysitter, we were able to escape to Breckenridge for the night. Ahhh, Breckenridge, you are so perfect in so many ways. That night we ate at a Vegan pizza place called Piante. Yeah, you read that right, a Vegan pizza place.

Anyway, the food was a amazing and the staff was phenomenal. When it was time for our check our waitress (whose name was Cheese) brought it to us in a book. The book was called, Begin It Now by Susan Haywood.

If you ever wonder if the universe gives you signs of your future… well here is another. The book is all about following your dreams and is a collection of poems and quotes that help you, begin it now. See what they did there?

We love the book so much we bought it. While there are many great quotes I will share with you over time, here is one that perfectly sizes up our work with the Story Ink movie series.

Come to the edge, he said
They said: We are afraid
Come to the edge, he said
They came.
He pushed them..
And they flew.

- Guillaume Apollinaire

The goal of Story Ink was always to show the story behind the art. By story, I mean we wanted to capture the fireside story of the person and the ink. Earlier last week we filmed another one and I finished it before we went to Breckenridge. I shared it with the wonderful woman who got the tattoo. I never know what exactly to expect, but after a few round of edits I got this text, “That’s amazing. You just made me cry my eyes out. I love it…”

Each time we do one of these, we are asked to come to the edge and with this new friend of ours, we jump. Each time, we have learned to fly. I can’t even begin to tell you how rewarding that is. (BTW - we will release the story tomorrow so stay tuned).

Vegan pizza, great books, flying and sharing life stories. I hope you understand why I didn’t post.

Here is to great stories,
